Ideation and Sketching
I started by sketching out several iterations of possible poster ideas.
The Crocs’ brand identity centers around promoting individuality and comfort, so many of my sketches feature both of those concepts. We were also encouraged to create our own taglines, so I explored some different options throughout my sketches.

Alternate Posters
Photography was a huge part of this project, and I wanted to make sure I did a good job. My main tagline for this project was “Explore with comfort”, so I aimed to showcase Crocs in a more natural environment, showing that they could be worn anywhere.
While it was a coincidence that it was fall during this shoot, I think it fits because the orange and yellow hues of the leaves further emphasize a feeling of comfort and familiarity.
Final Advertisements
Below are alternate explorations of the posters that didn’t quite work.
Whether it be the type and image not pairing together successfully, or the image not quite fitting the theme, these posters are not my strongest designs.
Reflection
Overall, I’d say I’m extremely satisfied with the way this project turned out.
This is the first time I had utilized Photography within one of my projects, and it helped me deepen my understanding of photography. This project also inspired me to take several photography classes going forward.
However, if I had been given more time, I would’ve liked to have played around with type arrangements a little more.
Using our knowledge of both Photography and Typography, we were asked to design a set of 2 concept advertisements, as well as a set of social media posts for a brand of our choice. I focused on the Crocs brand because its quirky and interesting advertising inspires me.
