Hometown Website

We were asked to design a website based on our hometown. I decided to create a tourist website encouraging people to visit Buffalo, NY.

Survey and Research

UX/UI Design

Before doing any designing, I started by conducting a survey and gauging a specific audience for my website.

From the results, I noticed that people were traveling to partake in city-specific activities and were also interested in seeing recommendations from those who live in the city.

Results

Seeing those results, I wanted to emphasize those two things specifically. Following that, I created two personas based on the most frequent responses.

Wireframing

After that, I moved on to wireframing and basic layouts.

I wanted my website to appear friendly and welcoming, so I decided to use rounder shapes throughout my website in order to achieve that. I also relied a lot on negative space in order to give off a sleek look.

Final Walkthrough

Overall, I am satisfied with the results of this project.

However, given more time, I would’ve liked to improve the website's prototyping further, as some parts feel lacking.
